Hey guys what's up! Hope you are well but everyone is confused after reading that pop-up message of whatsapp as we all know that whatsapp is updating it's privacy policy on 8th february 2021.
So the Important point is that, most of you don't know about those terms and privacy policy so if you want to know the new terms and privacy policy of whatsapp then read this post very carefully.
Everyone is getting a pop up message while opening the whatsapp application, the pop up message is that "Whatsapp is updating it's terms and privacy policy" as shown in screenshot.
So most of the users of whatsapp click on the "Agree" button without reading it and some of the users click on "not now" so this is very Important for both type of users, either they clicked on "agree" button or they clicked on "not now" button.
Important Update (16th January 2021)
There are some changes in the statement of whatsapp privacy policy i.e. whatsapp announced that, all these privacy policy will be Implemented on 15th may 2021 and also they will not delete any account on 8th february 2021.
So guys Ignore all those lines/words where 8th february is written.
Note :- Your private chats are secured with End-to-end encryption in normal whatsapp messenger but not in whatsapp business. They will be able to see your chats in whatsapp business for providing you best marketing services.

I am going to explain that pop-up message of new privacy policy of whatsapp in simple words, so let's read all points one by one.
- They will store and manage our chats for their business purposes i.e. facebook and their other companies will be able to read all chats of your whatsapp even if you don't have a facebook account, still facebook has rights to store and manage your chats.
- Integrations across the facebook company product means that you will be able to connect your whatsapp account with facebook company products such as Instagram, facebook etc.
- So after 8th february 2021, end-to-end encryption for messages and calls will not be available on whatsapp as they will be able to share our chats with facebook and also the main point is that if you don't accept these terms and privacy policy till 8th february 2021 then they will delete your account from whatsapp.
They don't give us any other option, they simply said that if you want to use whatsapp after 8th february then you have to accept our new terms and privacy policy otherwise your account will be deleted.
Now I am going to discuss those Important points which are written inside the terms and privacy policy. So guys please read all these points one by one very carefully.
Location services
- Whatsapp collects your location details. We all know that there is a feature of sharing our location to our contacts in whatsapp i.e. we can share our live location with our contacts on whatsapp.
So guys Important point is that, Whatsapp can use your location Information even if you do not use it's location-related features i.e. If you don't give the permission of location then they can use your IP address and other Information such as phone number , area codes to estimate your general location.
Sharing data with facebook
- Whatsapp will be able to share your data with the facebook and the other companies of facebook after 8th february 2021.
So guys the data includes your account registration information i.e. your phone number, transaction data, service related information, device Information, IP address. So guys if you clicked on agree button then whatsapp can be able to use each and everything which is mentioned above.
Even if you don't use facebook account still whatsapp will share your data to facebook and the other companies of facebook.
No Third-party banner ads
- Whatsapp still don't allow the third party banner ads on their service but they said that "if we ever do this then we will update this in our privacy policy", means that, still users don't see ads on whatsapp but if they want to show ads in future then they will update their privacy policy.
So guys it may be possible that after some time(not now but in future), we will see banner ads on whatsapp.

Minimum age whatsapp policy
- Now guys if you want to use whatsapp then you must be at least 16 years old or above otherwise you are not legally allowed to use whatsapp.
As we all know that there are so many childrens who uses whatsapp but they are not legally allowed to use whatsapp if their age is less than 16 years old.
Banning accounts
- Whatsapp may ban your account if they believe that you are violating their terms of services and on the basis of their terms of services, they may ban you without any notification.
It means that if you violates any term of service of whatsapp then you will be ban from using whatsapp and the main point is that you will not get any notification of it i.e. you will not be notified by any notification, they will simply ban you if you violates their term of services.
