Before I tell you the main topic, I want to tell you about "Chrome Remote Desktop", so if you want to know about this feature then read this post continue otherwise you can follow the steps directly.
Chrome Remote Desktop
With the help of "chrome remote desktop" feature you can easily access you PC or laptop through your android phone. It allows you to access your PC or laptop when you are away from your PC or laptop i.e. you can use your laptop or PC through your android phone.
You can easily connect your work or home PC remotely and access each and everything of your PC through android phone. So if you also want to use this feature or service then read this post till the end.
Access your PC through an android phone
If you want to access your PC through an android phone then you have to follow all these steps that are given below:-
Step 1:- Open chrome browser and type "Chrome web store" in the search bar and then click on the first link which is named as "Chrome web store" or you can simply click on this link to open "Chrome web store".
Step 2:- Now you will see a option of search bar at the top left side so click on it and type "Chrome remote desktop" then you need to click on that extension as shown in screenshot.
Step 3:- After clicking on it you have to click on "Add to chrome" and then click on "Add extension" as shown in screenshot.
Step 4:- Now open that Chrome remote desktop extension by clicking on the "extension icon" which is given at the top right corner and then click on "Chrome remote desktop" as shown in screenshot.
Step 5:- After clicking on it, you have to setup remote access by clicking on "download" button and then downloading will start so after downloading it you need to install in in your PC or laptop so open your downloads folder and then install it as shown in screenshot.
Step 6:- After installing it then you need to open that extension again by clicking on extension icon (read 4th step) and then you will see a option of "turn on" so click on it after clicking on it then you need to "enter any name" of your PC or laptop and then click on "Next" button as shown in screenshot.
Step 7:- Now you need to create a pin for connecting your PC or laptop with your android phone i.e. you have to enter this pin in your android phone so after creating it click on "start button" as shown in screenshot.
Note:- It is not an alphanumeric pin so you have to create a pin only with digits, not a combination of alphabets and digits.
After performing all these 7 steps now you have to download an application in your android phone so perform these steps in your android phone.
Step 8:- Open play store and search "chrome remote desktop" then install it in your android phone or you can simply download it by clicking on the "download" button given below.
Step 9 :- Now open that application and click on "three lines" and then you have to select your that google account which is already 'signed in' in your laptop i.e. if you have download the extension in your PC with abc@gmail.com so it is necessary to select only that (abc@gmail.com) account in this android application.
Step 10:- After selecting that account then the name of your PC or laptop will appear in this android application so click on it and then you have to enter that pin which is created in 7th step so enter it and click on "connect" button as shown in screenshot.
After performing all these steps correctly then screen of your laptop will appear on your android phone and then you will able to access your laptop or PC through your android phone. For better understanding, you can the screenshot given below.
Points to be remember
- Both devices i.e. your PC and android phone, connected with Internet connection otherwise it will not work.
- Rotate your android phone to access or control the PC or laptop easily i.e. you can easily control it through your android phone in landscape mode.
- PC or laptop must be turned on i.e. if your PC is in sleep mode or shutdown then you can't access your PC with an android phone.
